scrap names

when a person is done with their name, they discard it.a name exchange project for trans people. pass down your old name(s), or pick out a new one given by another trans person.

how it works:
send a name through the askbox on scrapnames.tumblr.com. (refer to next page to check what names are appropriate to submit)
you may choose to only send the name, but you can also add information such as: the name's origin, the name's meaning(s), why it was originally chosen for/by you, and whether it's a traditionally feminine, masculine or gender-neutral name.when names are posted, i will tag the first letter of the name, whether it's traditionally feminine, masculine or neutral, and its origin and meanings if provided, to help people looking for a new name to narrow their search.

what you can submit:
your deadname/birth name.
your birth middle name(s).
names that you used previously in your transition, but that you stopped using.
what you shouldn"t submit:
the aim of this project is for trans and nonbinary people to exchange previously used names that they aren't using anymore; it may serve as a way to feel better about one's deadname by passing it on, or to find a more meaningful connection to a new name knowing it was passed down by another trans person. for this reason, you shouldn't submit:
your name as a cis person.
a name you've never used.
a chosen name that you're currently using.
