how it works:
send a name through the askbox on scrapnames.tumblr.com.
the format is: [name] - [its origin] - [whether its traditionally male, female, or gender neutral].
you can add an explanation of what it means or the circumstances in which it was given if youd like.
if you want to add a longer explanation of meaning or other, you can use the submit box.
what you can submit:
your deadname/birthname.
your birth middle name(s).
names that you used previously in your transition, but that you stopped using.
what you shouldnt submit:
the goal is for trans and nonbinary people to exchange previously used names that they arent using anymore. it can be a way to feel better about ones deadname, or to find more of a connection to a new name knowing it used to belong to a trans person who is passing it down to you. for that reason, you shouldnt submit:
your name as a cis person.
a name youve never used but find nice.
a chosen name that youre currently using.
